Setting up Unloc on Apple Watch
This guide explains how to install and set up the Unloc app on your Apple Watch.
Requirements
Before you begin, make sure you have:
- An Apple Watch paired with your iPhone
- The Unloc app installed on your iPhone
- An active Unloc account (signed in on your iPhone)
Installing the app
There are two ways to install Unloc on your Apple Watch:
From your Apple Watch
- Open the App Store on your Apple Watch
- Search for "Unloc"
- Tap "Get" to download and install the app
From your iPhone
- Open the Watch app on your iPhone
- Scroll down to find Unloc in the list of available apps
- Tap "Install"
The app will be installed on your watch automatically.
Signing in
You don't need to sign in separately on your Apple Watch. The watch app uses your account from the iPhone app. Make sure
you are signed in to Unloc on your iPhone, and your watch will sync automatically.
Adding doors to your watch
Only doors marked as favorites on your iPhone will appear on your Apple Watch. This keeps the watch app focused on the
doors you use most often.
To add a door to your watch:
- Open the Unloc app on your iPhone
- Navigate to the door you want to add
- Tap the star icon to mark it as a favorite
The door will sync to your watch within a few moments. You can add multiple favorites, and they will all appear on your
watch.
To remove a door from your watch, simply unmark it as a favorite on your iPhone.
Syncing between devices
Your Apple Watch syncs with your iPhone automatically in the background. This happens when:
- You open the Unloc app on either device
- Your favorites list changes
- Your keys are updated
- Both devices are within Bluetooth range
If you've just added a favorite and don't see it on your watch yet, try opening the Unloc app on your iPhone to trigger a
sync.
Unsupported lock types
Some lock types are not available on Apple Watch due to technical limitations with their underlying technology. If you
mark a door as a favorite but it doesn't appear on your watch, the lock type may not be supported.
Doors that are supported will sync automatically. There is no additional setup required for individual locks.
