How to share a temporary key?

A temporary digital key can be useful if you want to give a craftsman, friend, caretaker or others limited access to a lock. You can give others access to the lock for a chosen amount of hours, or a given period of time.

You can choose to receive notification in the app when the key is used, giving you full control over your lock.

Step 1: Start by going into the "Shared" tab at the bottom of the screen and tap on "Share key" button.

Step 2: Choose which keys you want to share and tap "Select recipient" button.

Step 3: Select the recipient(s) of the digital key from your contact list or phone number and then tap "Select time" button.

Step 4: Choose how long you want to share the access to the digital key.

• You can choose "1 hour from now" which creates a temporary key for only 1 hour and revokes access automatically afterwards.
• You can choose "Customised" which lets you decide from which date and time that the key starts and ends. Also let's you decide if the key should only work in certain dates of the week.
• You can choose "Unlimited" which create a key that never expires. But you can always manage your shared keys and revoke them, please read this article to learn how to do that.

Step 5: If you choose "Customised", you will be able to decide the start and end date in this step. Otherwise please continue with the next step.

Step 5: This is the last step that shows you the summary of the key sharing. You can review it and then tap "Share keys" button.

• You can choose to receive notifications when the key is used in this screen before sharing the keys.
• Once shared, the recipient(s) will receive an SMS with information about the shared key. If the recipient(s) already have the app installed, or had it downloaded before, - the key will be available in the app once shared.
