Vendor Operational Insights

Note: This insight is handled by the Unloc team. No action is required from you.

Severity: Critical

Applies to: Cloud-based lock vendors

A vendor's cloud API is currently unavailable. The impact depends on the lock type:

  • Bluetooth-based locks — Keys will continue to work for most users, but some may experience service degradation (e.g., key creation or refresh issues).
  • IP-based locks — Service is down. Users cannot open doors until the API is restored.

How is this different from other insights?

Vendor Operational Insights break the usual pattern. Most insights are actionable — you can acknowledge them, investigate, and resolve the issue yourself. Vendor insights are different:

  • You cannot fix it — The problem is with the vendor's cloud service, not your installation.
  • You cannot acknowledge it — There's nothing for you to investigate.
  • Unloc is already on it — Our team is automatically notified and working with the vendor.

Why does this happen?

  • Vendor service outage — The vendor's cloud API is down or experiencing issues.
  • Network issues — Connectivity problems between Unloc and the vendor's servers.
  • Scheduled maintenance — The vendor may be performing planned maintenance.

What should you do?

Nothing. The Unloc team monitors these issues and coordinates with the vendor to restore service. You'll see the insight resolve automatically once the vendor's API is back online.

Auto-Resolution

This insight resolves automatically when the vendor's API becomes available again.
