Salto Proxy Connection Issues

Warning: New keys cannot be created. Existing keys will eventually stop working. Investigate promptly.

We are unable to connect to the Unloc Proxy running on the Salto server. Usually this means the server itself is offline, or Salto software has been stopped. Users may experience issues creating or refreshing keys until the connection is restored.


What is the Unloc Proxy?


The Unloc Proxy is a small software service that runs on your Salto server. It enables communication between Unloc and your Salto installation. Without it, Unloc cannot create or update keys.


Why does this happen?


  • Server offline — The Salto server itself is powered off or unreachable.
  • Network issues — The server cannot reach the internet to communicate with Unloc.
  • Proxy service stopped — The Unloc Proxy service on the Salto server has stopped running.


How to fix it


Contact your Salto installer to check that:


  1. The Salto server is powered on and connected to the internet.
  2. If the proxy service has stopped, restart it.
  3. The Unloc Proxy service is running on the server.


If you're unable to resolve the issue, contact Unloc Support.

This insight resolves automatically when the Unloc Proxy successfully communicates with Unloc again.
