Salto Key Creation Issues

Applies to: Salto XS lock connections


We are unable to create mobile keys on the Salto server. Users may not receive new keys or key updates until this is resolved.

We do have contact with the Salto Server (and Unloc proxy), so the problem is likely between the Salto Software and Salto Encoder.


Existing keys are currently working, but service will degrade over time if the issue is not resolved.


Why does this happen?


  • Encoder issues — The Salto encoder may be offline or malfunctioning.
  • Server configuration — The Salto server may be misconfigured or missing required licenses.
  • Software issues — The Salto software may need to be restarted or updated.


How to fix it


Contact your Salto installer to check that:


  1. The Salto encoder is connected and functioning.
  2. The Salto server has the required licenses for mobile key creation.
  3. The Salto software is running correctly.


If you're unable to resolve the issue, contact Unloc Support.

This insight resolves automatically when Unloc successfully creates a test key on the Salto server.
