Low Battery

*Severity:** Low

Applies to: Danalock, Salto XS, Dormakaba DKey, Nimly, Masterlock, TLJ

The lock has reported a low battery level. If not replaced, the battery will eventually run out and users will be unable to open the lock.

Why does this happen?

Batteries naturally drain over time through normal use. The rate of drain depends on the lock type and how frequently it is used.

Tip: Don't wait for the battery to die completely. Schedule battery replacement as soon as you see this insight to avoid disruption for users.

How to fix it

The fix depends on your lock model:

  • Salto locks — Contact your system installer for battery replacement.
  • Danalock V3 you can read this guide.
  • Dormakaba dKey you can read this guide.
  • Masterlock Lockbox you can read this guide.
  • Masterlock Padlock you can read this guide.
  • Nimly — Open the cover, remove old batteries, and install new ones.
  • Heimgard — Open the cover, remove old batteries, and install new ones.

After replacing the batteries, test the lock using the Unloc app to confirm it works correctly.

Auto-Resolution

This insight resolves automatically when the lock reports a healthy battery level after replacement. This typically happens within a few hours, depending on how frequently the lock communicates with Unloc.

Note that the battery warning may not immediately disappear, even after you have replaced the batteries.

End User Notification

When this issue is detected, end users with keys to the affected lock(s) will see a warning in the Unloc app underneath the open button, plus a more detailed description when opening the door page.
