Common error codes

This article covers common error codes that can occur across all lock types in the Unloc app.




Bluetooth Detection & Scanning


Error 1011: Cannot Find Lock


What happened:

The app could not find the lock via Bluetooth within the expected time.


How to fix it:

Make sure you are at the correct lock and within range (up to 5 meters). Check that Bluetooth is enabled on your device. Try restarting the app or toggling Bluetooth off and on.




Bluetooth Connection


Error 1020: Connection Failed


What happened:

The app found the lock but failed to establish a Bluetooth connection.


How to fix it:

Make sure you are within range of the lock and try again. If the problem persists, try restarting the app or toggling Bluetooth off and on.




Error 1022: Connection Lost


What happened:

The Bluetooth connection to the lock was lost while connecting.


How to fix it:

Make sure you are within range of the lock and try again. If the problem persists, try restarting the app or toggling Bluetooth off and on.




Key Data & Lock System Communication


Error 1050: Communication Failed


What happened:

Failed to communicate with the lock system.


How to fix it:

Check your internet connection and try again. If the problem persists, please contact support.




Error 1097: Key Data Fetch Failed


What happened:

Failed to fetch key data from the lock system.


How to fix it:

Check your internet connection and try again. If the problem persists, please contact support.




Error 1997: Key Data Fetch Failed


What happened:

Failed to fetch key data from the lock system.


How to fix it:

Check your internet connection and try again. If the problem persists, please contact support.




Error 1998: Key Data Fetch Timeout


What happened:

Fetching key data from the lock system took too long.


How to fix it:

Check your internet connection and try again. If the problem persists, please contact support.




Other Common Errors


Error 1100: Unsupported Lock Version


What happened:

This version of the app does not support this lock.


How to fix it:

Try updating the app to the latest version to enable support for this lock.




Error 1101: Unsupported Lock Operation


What happened:

The lock does not support both opening and closing.


How to fix it:

Try the other option to operate the lock. Some locks only support one type of operation.




Error 1999: Bluetooth Unavailable


What happened:

Bluetooth is either turned off or you have not given permissions for Unloc to use Bluetooth.


How to fix it:

  1. Open your device Settings
  2. Make sure Bluetooth is turned on
  3. Check that Unloc has permission to use Bluetooth
  4. On iOS: Go to Settings > Unloc > Bluetooth and ensure it's enabled
  5. On Android: Go to Settings > Apps > Unloc > Permissions and enable Bluetooth/Nearby devices
